About

Hallowed Heart Press Hallowed Heart Press (Em Tamulewicz; they/them)—sometimes working under the name Em, Cleric of Selûne—is a Cleveland-based medievalist gothic printmaker, bookbinder, and papermaker. Their work lingers in themes of worship, grief, and luck, approached through an autistic lens and shaped by religious iconography, folklore, and medieval visual traditions.

They work primarily through traditional print processes, building images by hand through linocut, etching, lithography, and letterpress. The result is tactile, devotional, and occasionally a little uncanny.

Em received their BFA in Fine Art and Design from the University of Michigan – Ann Arbor. Their work has been exhibited across the United States and internationally in Seoul, South Korea, and is held in the permanent collection of Akron Children’s Hospital (Brecksville, OH). They have participated in residencies including Arts, Letters, and Numbers in Troy, New York, and are members of the Southern Graphics Council International and the Mid America Print Council.

They are currently a studio member at Artists at the Twist in Midtown Cleveland. Their work can be found at regional art markets and exhibitions, at Cleveland Curiosities, and online.
